Free camping, clean! We spent June 30th and July 1st here, it was very hot, so we only went out for an hour or so at a time before having to retreat into the rv for water and a/c. The first day we spent about 3 hours total out in the sage brush surface collecting, we spent about an hour attempting to dig, which was honestly much less productive and just too hot. The 2nd day we spent about 5 hours total wandering the sage brush. At this location we were able to fill over 4-16.9oz water bottles full of sunstone. We did find quite a few stones ranging from 10-20 carats, we also found some color and a few schiller. We spent the next 2 days at Spectrum mine.
It was an experience not soon forgotten.. Desolate place windy as heck but did find a few stones worth having cut!
Had a great time taking my family to dig stones. Extremely remote!! I'm talking another hour drive to the site from Plush, gravel roads. Saw some antelope which was cool. Be prepared with lunch, snacks, water, etc...And bring your digging tools. We found a handful of small stones right on the surface.
We had a great time covered more area so I got more stones fun
Rock hounds for life! So much fun digging with the family. Fun family memories made here. Wonderful place.
